At the tone, the field left in qualifying order. Kinwald got the holeshot on Cavaleri and led early. The only driver to move up in the early going was Greg Hodapp who passed Matt Francis for third. The race between Kinwald and Cavaleri just kept getting closer and closer. Every lap Cavaleri was right on the bumper of Kinwald. With three quarters of the race done, the inevitable happened: Kinwald and Cavaleri made contact. The bump flipped over Kinwald, who was quickly marshaled. In a sign of incredible sportsmanship with the world championship at stake, Cavaleri stopped and gave Kinwald back his position. The battle began to rage all over again, as the two drivers raced inches apart. In a nail-biting finish, Ryan and Brian crossed the line just before time ran out to start their final lap. There was contact again, this time just enough to make Kinwald slide wide, and Cavaleri took the lead. Kinwald did his best to catch him, but this was Ryan Cavaleri's day. With a win in the first Main, Ryan's victory in the third A-Main gave him his first IFMAR World Championship. Congratulations Ryan and Team Losi
